Day 28   May 21, 2006

Read:  Psalm 45

Reflection:   This wonderful Psalm prophetically and poetically reflects upon the joy, passion, and  love we have for Jesus; and His enthusiastic passion for the Church, the Bride of Christ, as well as each of us as individuals. He is ecstatic over us!  If ever we struggle with how much Jesus loves us, in this Psalm, He unbridles His passion. Take heart, dear children, dear Church; you are glorious and beautiful in His sight.

He tells us to put on our sword (the Word of God).  Jesus is our Mighty warrior, calling us to be like Himself, riding out to victory, defending with truth, humility and justice.  He goes with us to perform awe-inspiring deeds!

Your arrows (prayers) are sharp, piercing your enemies’ hearts.  Your prayers hit the mark! It is vital to remember this when you pray.  The Lord has anointed you with the oil of joy.

Adoration:      Lord Jesus, remind us to express our love to You the way You do to us.  My heart overflows with beautiful thoughts about You, O Mighty warrior!

Confession:    Listen to me, O Church; take heart to what I say.  Forget your people and your homeland far away.  Lord, sometimes our priorities are mixed up, and our eyes are on our families and circumstances.  Help us to retain right order in our thinking and stay focused on You, Your ability, and not on our weakness. Forgive us for forgetting who we are in You and confessing and testifying about our problems instead of seeking You in the Word, and going forth in battle, riding out to victory.  Change our hearts to be the victorious warriors You are calling us to be.

Thanksgiving:    I thank You, Lord, for Your great love.  I thank You for the price You paid for the Church and for me on Calvary.  Thank You that You go into battle before and behind us, and that You are victorious.

Thank You for seeing the Church as beautiful and glorious, and for being joyful and enthusiastic over us, with endless endurance and patience.

Supplication and Prayer:   Help the Bride of Christ and each of us raise up our eyes and our hearts to see Your beauty and sufficiency.  Help us to keep our focus on You without deviating in our path.  Lead the Church to be that beautiful, glorious bride whom You are rejoicing over, responding with vibrant, passion, and joy to You!  In Jesus Name, Amen
