Day 23 May 16, 2006
Read: Psalm 110
Reflection: “The LORD said to my Lord…” The first LORD is Jehovah is speaking to Lord Jesus about His authority and dominion over his enemies. In verse 2, the Lord Jesus extends this same authority from Jerusalem (the Church)… to rule over enemies.
The people will serve You willingly arrayed in holy garments (godly character and authority given by God) and our strength will be renewed daily!
The LORD Jehovah has taken an oath and will not break His vow. You are a priest forever in the line of Melchizedek. (Read Hebrews 6:16-19, Hebrews 7:1-3) We, God’s people have been called to a royal priesthood to bring glory to God. (Read: 1 Peter 2:9)
The Lord (Jesus) stands at our right hand to protect us. He will be victorious!
Adoration: Lord Jesus, I marvel at who You are. You, who sit at the right hand of our Father, have extended Your love, protection and authority to us, Your children. Your Word, Your wisdom, authority and promises are to function fully in Your Church.
Confession: We forget who we are in Christ. We allow ourselves to be caught up in our worldly surroundings and take our focus off You. We have limited ourselves from operating in the fullness of Your priesthood. We have not taken a stand over Your enemies and we have allowed these giants to dwell not only in our land, but even within our families and church.
Thanksgiving: I thank You, Lord, that You triumph over all our enemies. I thank You, Lord, that You have extended this same authority to us to identify Your enemies (anything that draws our focus off of You), to make these things (sins) a footstool under Your feet. Thank you for Your complete protection. Thank You that Your Word never fails.
Supplication: Help me, Lord, to remember Who I am in You and that You have given me authority from heaven to send my enemies (the issues of sin and distractions) to Your footstool. Help us as the Church to also recognize the giants in our land, our spiritual enemies that cause the Body of Christ to be limited in reaching our communities. Help us to do the spiritual housekeeping in our homes, our church and our community that would allow You to move mightily within our midst.
Prayer: I thank you, Lord, for Your dominion over every circumstance. Help me to be vigilant and discerning, recognizing those areas which affect myself, my family, my church and my community. Remind me by Your Holy Spirit, to quickly bring these things before You. Help me be quick to repent, quick to stand in the gap, and help my confession be filled with faith as I watch Your mighty hand transform each circumstance.
In Jesus Name, Amen
