Day 21 May 14
Read: Psalm 19
Reflection: The wonder, the power, and the love of God are all around us, revealed in all He has created. The variety and complexity is far too great to even consider the absence of a Creator.
Adoration: You have placed love and order all around me in Your works. The beauty of You is reflected in the infinite variety of the creation. You gave me the ability to be able to drink it in and to appreciate it. I marvel at how beautifully every part is intertwined with the others.
Confession: Often I am just too busy to notice, perceive, and enjoy all You have created. Yet, I should be awestruck at even the tiniest part of all You made.
Thanksgiving: Thank You for all the wondrous things You have created for me to enjoy. You have given color, texture, sound, and scent to the world. Thank You for creating me in such a manner that I can see it in color, that I can feel it, smell it, and hear it. Thank You for the complexity of me and of each of Your creations.
Supplication: God reveals to us so much of Himself in that which He has created – His Love, His Power, His Intelligence, His faithfulness, His gentleness, His humor, His joy, and His awesomeness.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your creation. Thank You for the infinite variety and bountifulness of the world around me. Thank You that I have eyes which see the beauty and the color. Thank You that I can feel the softness of baby skin, the furriness of my favorite pet, the silky texture of a rose petal. Thank You that I can feel the warmth of the sun, the coolness of a breeze, the gentleness of a kiss, the waves lapping at my feet. Thank You that I have ears to hear the music and the joy of laughter, the roar of the ocean, the rainfall and the thunder, the gentle words of love. Thank You for the smell of coffee, of fresh-baked bread, of flowers in spring, of my baby’s sweet breath. You have given us so much to enjoy and appreciate. Please help me to never take any of it for granted. Help me to never forget that you created the rainbows, the snowflakes, and the stars in the sky, and You created me.
