Day 2    April 25, 2006

Read:  Psalm 86

Reflection: This prayer of David shares his honesty with himself and with God during a time of trouble and opppression. David admits feeling afflicted and needy because there are many who are against him. David not only asks God's help but he also affirms God's gracious attributes as he glorifies His Name.

Adoration: Praise God for His lovingkindness and truth. Lovingkindness is shown by God's grace and forgiveness. Truth is seen in the contrast of how God deals with His loyal servants and those who arrogantly deny or ignore Him.

Confession: Lord, I confess my tendency to walk in my own ways rather than asking You to teach me your Truth and wisdom in every circumstance I face.

Thanksgiving: Thank You, Lord, for being patient and merciful toward me during those times when I really deserve Your anger.

Supplication: My response to trouble should be to call on the Lord because He will hear me and give help, comfort, and strength.

Prayer: O Lord, You alone are God. When I face times of trouble and oppression, may I lift up my voice to You in thanksgiving and worship. Lord, I trust You with all my heart and I will glorify Your Name forever. Amen
