Read:   Psalm 37

 

Reflection:      This psalm begins “Do not fret . . .”  Then even adds “because of evildoers . ..”  Also many other bits of advice follow – “Trust in the Lord and do good,” “cultivate faithfulness”...
Then verses 4-6 give three special concepts I want to incorporate into my life to live by:
DELIGHT yourself in the Lord . . .
COMMIT your way to the Lord,
TRUST also in Him,   (And He will do it).
What a simple and profound way to live!   I need the Spirit to help me remember and put  it into practice.

 

Adoration:   Even when we have instructions to follow and obey, He sweetens them with precious promises and results.

 

Confession:   I fall down in all three areas, but I want to trust and follow and obey.   Like the song, “Trust and Obey.”

 

Thanksgiving:   That His way for us is reachable; we just have to be willing.

 

Supplication:   First I need to delight in Him, and to realize and believe He delights in me. 

LORD, You have demonstrated Your undying love by dying - for me!   Help me to believe that so I can be about sharing it.
